lowkey: critical coding club

lowkey: critical coding club is an ongoing series of meetups for anyone who wants to write code alongside other people - regardless of experience. There's no fixed agenda: bring a project, follow a tutorial, pair up with someone, or simply use the space as a quiet place to work with others nearby.

The club is conceived as an alternative to academic institutions, businesses with ethical compromises, and "expert" meetups. Coding is not treated as a neutral activity - lowkey is open to connecting technical practice with the political and social questions that come with it, not as abstract debate but as part of the coding itself.

The event is initiated by ursuppe and draws inspiration from community coding events around the world, including Calm Coding by Varia in Rotterdam, of which it can be considered a fork. Everyone who wants to join is asked to read the Social Rules on the website, which also has resources if you need inspiration.
