Writing Workshop: Memories and Autobiography

Author and writing instructor Helle Merete Brix leads this workshop on autofiction - memories and autobiography. The programme includes a presentation, writing exercises, and discussion about what to focus on when writing from your own life, with plenty of opportunity for questions.

Helle Merete Brix is an author, journalist, and lecturer with books on religion, freedom of expression, art, and terrorism. She has contributed to Weekendavisen, Jyllands-Posten, and Berlingske, and has taught creative writing since 2003 at institutions including FOF, Skolen for Skabertrang, Copenhagen Main Library, and the Danish Journalists Association.

The workshop is part of Copenhagen Libraries' monthly writing workshop series. Each workshop is standalone and lasts two hours - this one takes place 10:00-12:00 at BIBLIOTEKET Rentemestervej, Mødeværket, 2nd floor (access via the main staircase or lift from the main entrance).

The event is free and aimed at adults, but requires registration on Billetto. Computers are not provided, so bring your own laptop and/or paper and pen. Note that there are generally no desks, so you will likely need to work with your computer or paper in your lap. No refreshments are served - bring your own water and snacks as needed.
