Writing Workshop: Historical Fiction

Author and translator Harald Voetmann (b. 1978) leads this two-hour workshop in historical fiction. Through presentations and writing exercises, he helps participants find their footing in the genre. It's an advantage to have a time period in mind, but it's not required - and writing experience is not necessary either.

Voetmann has published novels, short stories, and poetry since 2000, most recently the novel Lysmesse (2025), and has translated texts from Latin, including works by Catullus and Petronius.

The workshop is free but requires registration via Billetto. There are no computers on site, so bring your own laptop and/or paper and pen. There are no desks either, so expect to work with materials in your lap. Bring your own water and snacks.
