Debut Fest: Interconnected Tension
Kildevæld Kulturcenter, Copenhagen · Free
Crochet as sculptural practice is at the heart of Marie Mathilde Munch's work. She lets her hands and the material negotiate the form through a slow, intuitive process where chance and inner tensions are not mistakes but the very driving force. The result is structures that exist somewhere between textile, relief and sculpture: soft and fragile at first glance, yet with a firm logic in the connections and voids.
At Debut Fest, 3-5 works are on display, and viewers are invited to come close - textures, shadows and material details demand intimate contact.
Munch is a textile artist based in Copenhagen, trained in anthropology with over 30 years of experience in crochet. Follow her on Instagram: @mamunch.textile
