Medieval historian Anders Lundt Hansen and archaeologist Thomas Roland examine the latest findings and scholarly debates about the founding of Copenhagen. Bishop Absalon has long received the credit, but recent excavations and research point further back - possibly all the way to the time of Knud the Great in the early 11th century.

The lecture explores how a city at this location could fit into Knud the Great's plans for England and Denmark. It coincides with the publication of the book "KNUD THE GREAT AND THE STRUGGLE FOR DENMARK 1026", published by Lindhardt & Ringhof in August 2026.
