Varberg and the Vikings

Archaeologist and Viking expert Jeanette Varberg takes the audience on a journey through the Vikings' travels across Europe - expeditions, trade, power struggles, battles, and conquests. She also sheds light on aspects of the Viking Age that are often overlooked: the roles of women, the profession of skalds, the significance of slavery, and the relationship between Norse religion and Christianity.

Jeanette Varberg is a museum inspector, archaeologist, author, and Viking expert who has written about the Viking Age in both history books and thrillers.

The lecture is part of the History Club at Brønshøj Library, but all are welcome with a ticket. It is also part of Copenhagen Libraries' festival "Wild About Science", which runs through October and November with science communication for adults at all Copenhagen Libraries.
