Librarians Claus Jacobsen and Sigurbjörg Elín Hólmarsdóttir bring cultural-historical texts and selected literature out into the forest. The walk takes you through Gråstenskovene with stops at everything from stone ruins to ships. This season the walks take place in Gråstenskovene and Nørreskoven.

The walk follows the same route as Monday, August 24. The routes are approximately 3-5 km - bring comfortable shoes and a water bottle, and check the weather forecast before you go.

About the venue: Gråstenskovene

Gråstenskovene is a state-owned forest of around 700 hectares near Gråsten, designated both a national landmark and a Natura 2000 area. The predominantly beech woodland has been linked to Gråsten Castle since the 16th century and passed into state ownership after the 1920 reunification with Denmark. The hilly terrain - shaped by the last ice age - features lakes, meadows and deep ravines, along with the Bronze Age burial mound Hjertehøj and the so-called princess lakes, once ducal carp ponds. Marked walking trails, fire pits and the Agernhuset lunch hut are available to visitors.
