Writing Workshop: Narrative Nonfiction

This workshop explores narrative nonfiction - the genre where real events are conveyed through literary techniques such as scenes, dialogue, and perspective. The instructor is Mette Mayli Albæk, a journalist, author, and head of nonfiction at Politikens Forlag, with a background in investigative journalism and editing.

The programme covers research and source criticism, narrative techniques, ethics in telling others' stories, and finding your personal voice. Teaching alternates between short writing exercises, concrete examples, and group feedback.

The workshop is free but requires registration via Billetto. It is aimed at adults and takes place in the Othello room at Christianshavns Bibliotek. From the entrance, follow the wall to the right through the library space and turn at the first corner - Othello is a side room along the right wall.

No computers are provided, so bring your own laptop and/or paper and pen. Desk space is limited, and you may need to work with your computer or paper on your lap - a writing board is offered as a base. The library has a coffee machine, but bring your own beverages.
