Writing Workshop: Write Within Systems — Christianshavns Bibliotek, Copenhagen
Free entry

This two-hour workshop explores the formal systems and structures that author Lee Langvad works with in her own literature - here form is not just a frame, but the content itself. The programme alternates between short talks from the author and concrete writing exercises with feedback.

Lee Langvad (born 1980) is an author and translator. Her debut came in 2006 with the poetry collection 'Find Holger Danske', followed in 2014 by 'Hun er vred' - A Testimony on Transnational Adoption. Her latest novel, 'Tolk', explores family relations, language barriers and queerness, and won the Montana Literature Prize. Among Langvad's translations are 'The Autobiography of Death' by Kim Hyesoon and 'Questionnaires' by Max Frisch.

The workshop is for adults and free to attend, but requires registration via Billetto. Bring your own laptop and/or paper and pen - desk space is very limited, so expect to work with materials in your lap. The library provides writing boards as a base. On the 4th floor there is a water station and coffee machine; otherwise bring your own drinks.

The room is called Othello and is located at Christianshavn Library: from the entrance, follow the right wall through the library space and turn at the first corner - Othello is the side room along the right side. Questions can be sent to literature coordinator Poul-Louis at i343@kk.dk.

The workshop is part of Copenhagen Libraries' monthly series of standalone writing workshops around the city with changing themes and instructors.
