Author Talk with Rasmus Nielsen — Biblioteket Broager, Broager

Rasmus Nielsen is the author behind the novel series The South Jutland Nurse, which follows the young Caroline from Sønderborg through the years leading up to the Reunification in 1920. The series is inspired by his own great-grandmother's life and portrays a time marked by war and major social change.

The story begins in 1912, when Caroline lives in the German-occupied South Jutland with her parents and four siblings, for whom she bears great responsibility. From there, the narrative takes her to Copenhagen and London, where she trains as a nurse.

Rasmus Nielsen was born in Sønderborg, grew up in Ribe, and holds a master's degree in literary studies. He has worked as a cultural mediator, editor, and radio producer, and made his debut in 2025 with Gentle Waves When You Bloom, the first volume of the series.

The event is held in collaboration with Broager Parish Council.
