Autumn Holiday Activity: Create Your Own Coat of Arms

In Queen Dorothea's Chapel hang three coats of arms belonging to Duke Hans the Younger and his two wives - and these shields form the inspiration for this autumn holiday workshop at Sønderborg Castle. Just as the ducal family's coats of arms reflected their identity, your own shield will tell something about you.

When you arrive, you'll receive a brief introduction to the historical shields and ideas for creating your own - which you can take home afterwards. The activity runs Monday to Friday in week 42 from 11:00 to 15:00, and entry is free - just come along, the earlier in the day the more time you'll have to work on it.

The cost is 50 kr. per participant on top of the museum's regular admission. Children and young people under 18 enter free. Adults pay only the 50 kr. if they use the materials for their own creations - if you're just helping a child with their shield, only the regular admission applies.
