Sønderjysk Pigekor (South Jutland Girls' Choir) presents its final Christmas concert at Sct. Marie Kirke with conductor Mette Rasmussen. The parent choir, led by Carmen Breckau, also participates.

The programme features choral music and group singing of beloved Christmas carols. The concert lasts approximately one hour.

About the venue: Sct. Marie Kirke, Sønderborg

Sct. Marie Kirke stands on Kirketorvet in the centre of Sønderborg and, with its elevated position near Alssund, serves as one of the city's landmarks. The church was consecrated in 1600, replacing the older Sct. Jørgens Kirke, while the tower was added in 1883. The interior reflects Duke Hans the Younger's taste for the Renaissance style - the pulpit (1599) and altarpiece (1618) were both carved by Niels Tagesen of Sønderborg. The church also hosts concerts, including the opening event of the Orgelfestival in Sønderborg og omegn.

With more than three decades behind it, this Sønderborg-based elite choir brings classical choral sound and cross-genre ambition to the stage under chief conductor Mette Rasmussen. The group is widely recognised for its close musical bond with Efterklang, which has produced a string of sold-out church concerts.
