Getting Started with Reading - Parent Evening on Early Reading, Reading Practice and Reading Joy — Hovedbiblioteket, Copenhagen
Free entry

Librarian and reading advisor Nanna Gregersen hosts this evening at Copenhagen's Main Library, 4th floor, Krystalgade 15. The event is primarily aimed at parents of children in grades 1-3, but is also relevant for parents of older children still working on foundational reading skills.

Nanna Gregersen covers the technical, pedagogical and psychological aspects of reading instruction - including what the terms lix, lettal and 'phonetic' mean in practice, and how to find books at a level that gives your child success experiences and builds reading competence.

The programme:
• 17:00-17:45: Presentation on reading instruction
• 17:45-18:00: Questions from the audience
• 18:00-18:30: Introduction to the children's library's reading instruction books with help finding the right book for your child

Nanna Gregersen is a librarian at Blågården Library and has 15 years of experience as a Danish teacher in primary school. The event is free but requires a ticket to ensure access.
