A Tribute To Dire Straits
Koncertsalen Alsion, Sønderborg
Following a major success at Rock i Mølleparken in June 2024, A Tribute to Dire Straits returns to Sønderborg - this time at Koncertsalen on Alsion. According to Kultur i Syd, only a few tickets remain.
Behind the tribute concert stand six Swedish musicians who have played sold-out halls in Sweden over the past six years with their Brothers in Arms tour. The repertoire includes Dire Straits' most famous songs, including Sultans of Swing, Walk of Life and Money for Nothing. The band describes the Alsion concert as the most ambitious they have ever staged.
Dire Straits was formed in 1977 and achieved global success in the 1980s with Mark Knopfler at the helm. The band's world tour in 1985-86 sold around three million tickets, and Brothers in Arms went down in music history as the first CD album with over one million copies sold.
