Writing Workshop: Break the Frame with Erasure Poetry — Hovedbiblioteket, Copenhagen
Free entry

This workshop explores erasure as a literary and political tool. Drawing on Solmaz Sharif's essay "Erasure: The Near Transitive Properties of the Political and Poetical", we examine texts to uncover the subject positions and frames we inhabit as readers. Can redactions and palimpsests free us from violence? What ghosts remain? Note: the workshop uses English-language texts.

The workshop is led by Deniz (born 1994, graduate of the Danish Writers' School) - an award-winning author, teacher and lecturer working with prose, poetry and hybrid forms exploring home, identity, class and minority narratives. Deniz's novel "Blokkene" was published by Forlaget Gyldendal in 2025.

The event is free but requires registration on Billetto. It takes place on the 4th floor of Copenhagen's Main Library, both in-person and online, and is aimed at adults. No computers are provided, so bring your own laptop and/or paper and pen. Desk space is very limited - you will likely need to work with your computer or paper on your lap. The floor has a water station and a coffee machine; bring your own water bottle or flask.

From the main entrance on Krystalgade, reach the 4th floor via the elevator or stairs to the right in the Central Hall, or via the escalators to the 3rd floor and then up the stairs - the event area is to the right on the floor. Questions can be directed to literature coordinator Poul-Louis: i343@kk.dk.
