Poolen is a warehouse venue in a former B&W shipyard hall on Refshaleøen, wedged between an old dry dock and a scrapyard - hence the name. The hall, which previously housed the venue Stagebox, holds up to 2,500 standing guests and is run by the team behind Pumpehuset and Byhaven. The programme covers concerts, raves, parties and events, with professional sound and lighting and an 8×4.5 m LED screen.

Born in Sarajevo, Bregović rose to fame with the Yugoslav rock band Bijelo Dugme before his film scores for Kusturica's award-winning films brought him global acclaim. His Wedding and Funeral Orchestra takes Balkan brass, Roma rhythms and rock to stages across the world.
