Writing Workshop: Memories as a Writing Tool
Hovedbiblioteket, Copenhagen · Free
Author and literary scholar Maja Lucas, recently published with "Tennis Poems" (2026), leads this two-hour workshop exploring how memories can become a powerful tool for writing compelling scenes. The methods apply to short stories, novels, or other forms, whether or not you aim to write a full memoir.
The workshop is free and requires registration via Billetto. It takes place on the 4th floor of Copenhagen's Main Library and is for adults only. Computers are not provided, so bring your laptop and/or paper and pen - desk space is limited, and you'll likely need to work with materials in your lap. Writing boards for underlays can be borrowed on site. The floor has a water station and coffee machine, but no other refreshments, so bring your own drink.
From the main entrance on Krystalgade, reach the 4th floor via the elevator or stairs to the right in the Central Hall - alternatively via the escalators to the 3rd floor and stairs up to the right. The workshop area is to the right when you arrive on the floor.
Copenhagen Libraries arranges writing workshops around the city each month. Each event is standalone with presentations and writing exercises - not a continuous course - and themes and instructors change each time. Questions can be directed to literature coordinator Poul-Louis at i343@kk.dk.
