Writing Workshop: Narrative Journalism

This workshop explores narrative journalism, covering idea development, character portrayal, technique, and storytelling. The session includes discussions and writing exercises, with instructor Line Vaaben drawing on participants' real-world experience and incorporating the latest knowledge and current trends from Denmark and abroad.

Line Vaaben is a Cavling-nominated journalist and editor at Politiken, as well as an author. Together with forensic pathologist Asser Hedegård Thomsen, she wrote the award-winning book "A Predictable Crime - Femicide in Denmark". In March 2026, her book "Those We Trusted" about the 2020 murder of Maria From Jakobsen will be published.

The session runs for two hours, is aimed at adults, and takes place at Copenhagen's Main Library, 4th floor, LIVE. Participation is free but requires registration on Billetto.

Bring your own laptop and/or paper and pen - desk space is very limited, so you'll likely need to work in your lap. The library provides writing boards as underlays. The 4th floor has a water station and coffee machine, but no other refreshments, so bring your own drinks. Access the floor via elevator, stairs, or escalator from the Central Hall (entrance from Krystalgade) - the event area is to the right when you arrive.
