Writing Workshop: Get Started - Speed Writing and Writing Prompts — Hovedbiblioteket, Copenhagen
Free entry

This workshop is about getting words on paper - not about writing perfectly. Through speed writing, writing exercises, and linguistic techniques, you'll work on loosening up and producing text in volume. All exercises are short, and no special writing skills are required.

The instructor is Daniel Dalgaard (born 1987), a graduate of the Danish Writers' School (2011). He published his debut poetry collection "Vi er ikke konger" in 2013 and has since written both poetry collections and novels.

The workshop is for adults and takes place physically on the 4th floor of Copenhagen's Main Library. Entry is free, but registration via Billetto is required. Computers are not provided, so bring your laptop and/or paper and pen. Desk space is limited, and you should expect to work with materials in your lap - a writing board can be borrowed on site. The floor has a water station and coffee machine, but no other refreshments, so bring a drink.

The 4th floor is reached from the main entrance via Krystalgade: take the elevator or the stairs to the right in the Central Hall, or use the escalators to the 3rd floor and go up one flight of stairs to the right. The stage area is to the right when you arrive at the floor.

Questions can be sent to literature coordinator Poul-Louis at i343@kk.dk.
