Writing Workshop: Creating Drama in Dialogue — Hovedbiblioteket, Copenhagen
Free entry

This workshop gives you concrete tools to write dialogue with punch - without filler. You'll work with subtext and techniques from theatre, so your scenes come alive whether you're writing for theatre, film, or books. The session includes exercises and readings so you experience firsthand how words work on stage.

The instructor is Marie Louise Cornelius - author, theatre and film director, actor, and audiobook narrator. She has written the feel-good series Hjerteblink and Mellem lys og skygge and Bag facaden af Glas, a historical family romance series about women's liberation, film history, and cultural and technological development in the 20th century. She has also taught both adults and children to write.

This event is part of Copenhagen Libraries' monthly writing workshops - standalone two-hour sessions with presentations and writing exercises. It's free, aimed at adults, and takes place physically on the 4th floor of Hovedbiblioteket. Registration is required via Billetto.

No computers are provided - bring your own and/or paper and pen. Desk space is very limited, so you'll likely need to work with your computer or paper in your lap; writing boards are available. On the 4th floor you'll find a water station and coffee machine, but bring your own water bottle or flask. From the Krystalgade entrance to the Central Hall, the lift and stairs are on the right - the workshop area is to the right when you reach the 4th floor. Questions can be directed to literature coordinator Poul-Louis at i343@kk.dk.
