Writing Workshop: Write About Sport and Body
Hovedbiblioteket, Copenhagen · Free
Sport and body form the framework for this literary workshop, where participants work on translating physical sensations and sports experiences into poetry and prose. No particular sports background is necessary - it's enough to have touched a ball at some point in your life.
The workshop is led by Maja Lucas, an author and PhD in literary studies. Her latest book is "Tennis Poems" (2026). The session lasts two hours and alternates between presentations and writing exercises. Participation is free, but registration via Billetto is required. The workshop is for adults.
It takes place physically at Copenhagen's Main Library, 4th floor. Take the elevator or the stairs to the right in the Central Hall from the main entrance via Krystalgade - alternatively the escalators to the 3rd floor and then the stairs to the right up to the 4th floor. The stage area is to the right when you arrive at the floor.
Bring your own laptop and/or paper and pen. Desk space is very limited, so you will likely need to hold things in your lap - a writing board will be provided as a base. On the floor there is a water station and a coffee machine; feel free to bring your own water bottle or flask.
Questions can be sent to literature coordinator Poul-Louis at i343@kk.dk.
