This workshop explores how time works in comics. Unlike film, which shows one image at a time, comics can place multiple moments on the same page, making time more elastic. We'll examine the white space between panels, how to control narrative pacing, and shifting perspectives - what happens when you switch between viewing characters from the outside and seeing the world through their eyes?

All participants will receive guidance in developing and visualizing their own ideas and drawing a short comic. No prior drawing experience is necessary.

The workshop is led by Simon Bukhave, an illustrator with over 20 years of experience who has illustrated more than 70 books for children and young adults and created comics for all age groups.

Practical information: The workshop is for adults and takes place at Copenhagen's Main Library, 4th floor, LIVE. Participation is free but requires registration on Billetto. Bring your own computer and/or paper and pen - desk space is very limited, so you'll likely need to work in your lap. A clipboard for your pad can be borrowed. On the 4th floor there is a water station and coffee machine; bring your own water bottle or flask.

The 4th floor is reached from the main entrance via Krystalgade: take the elevator or the stairs to the right in the Central Hall, or follow the escalators to the 3rd floor and then take the stairs to the right up to the 4th floor. The stage area is to the right when you step out onto the floor.
