Lea Korsgaard: Before the Year Ends — Islands Brygge Bibliotek, Copenhagen

Lea Korsgaard is editor-in-chief of Zetland and author of the book "Before the Year Ends - What 64 Butterflies Taught Me About Nature's Greatest Mystery". Her search for butterflies took her through the Danish landscape and led her to ask herself the big questions: Why do we live, and what do we live for?

The event is part of Copenhagen Public Libraries' festival "Wild About Science" and takes place in Bryggekælderen at Islands Brygge Library.

Islands Brygge Bibliotek on Njalsgade is a small public library that has occupied the same spot in the old part of the Islands Brygge neighbourhood since 1966. The single-room space houses both adult and children's sections, with shelves stocked with new titles. Beyond lending, the library runs reading clubs, author events, book cafés and regular children's activities such as storytelling and theatre. Self-service access is available every day 08:00-20:00; a health card is required outside staffed hours.
