AHOY LANDLUBBERS - there's a message in a bottle!

Sofie visits the library with a workshop about Captain Foambeard and her life as a pirate captain, based on the series' three books. She brings a message in a bottle with a letter from one of Captain Foambeard's arch-rivals - and this becomes the starting point for a conversation with the children about what it really takes to be a good pirate captain, and why a good captain always needs an annoying rival.

Along the way, Sofie draws live and brainstorms with the children about funny arch-rivals and villains that Captain Foambeard might meet in the next book. Afterwards, the children get tips and tricks for drawing simple pirates in a draw-what-I-draw session, and finally they invent their own pirate villain. Sofie brings a Create-Your-Own-Pirate helper game to get the idea and drawing process going.

Kirke Hyllinge Bibliotek on Bygaden is the largest branch of Lejre Bibliotek & Arkiv and serves as the system's main library. It sits centrally in town next to Kirke Hyllinge Skole and houses a colourful children's library, study spaces and meeting rooms. Self-service access runs on weekdays from 06:00 to 22:00, with staffed hours four times a week. The library regularly hosts exhibitions, author evenings and other cultural events.
