MAAFA Presentation

The MAAFA association invites you to a short film screening about their work, followed by a panel discussion with artist Jeanette Ehlers, MAAFA founder Mikhala W. Iversen, and historian Kalle Kühlmann. The film and discussion focus on Danish colonial history and the narratives connecting Denmark to slavery.

MAIFA is Swahili for African Holocaust. The association works to commemorate the millions of people who lost their lives during the colonial period and advocates for a colonial museum in Vestindisk Pakhus and a memorial plaque on the quay.
