The Shadow Before Me — Solvang Bibliotek, Copenhagen

On June 14, Kim Fupz Aakeson received the DR Novel Prize for "The Shadow Before Me". This evening he discusses the novel and the award - one of many honours in his career.

The book follows a man who leaves after many years in a community of men who share only one thing: they have all done something fatal. How did he end up there? And what awaits him now that his sentence is served?

Kim Fupz Aakeson has written literature across all genres throughout his career.

Solvang Bibliotek on Remisevej in Copenhagen S is a public library that also serves as the school library for the neighbouring Dyvekeskolen. The newly renovated building has glass facades facing the shared square between the school and Solvang Church, and houses an events hall, a children's library and public workstations. Besides lending books, the library hosts theatre performances, exhibitions and practical services such as IT help and legal advice.
