History Club on Amager: The Story of Pusher Street

Carsten Norton traces the history of Pusher Street from the 1970s social experiment through the rockers' arrival in the 1980s, the organization of criminal groups, and up to today - when an era has ended and illegal markets have moved to new platforms.

The lecture is based on years of research and conversations with people who inhabited and operated in and around the street for decades. Norton is an author and journalist specializing in Denmark's criminal underworld and host of TV 2's crime magazine "Skyggesiden". In 2025 he published the book "Pusher Street - en fortælling".

The event takes place in the Hall at Sundby Library. The History Club on Amager is run jointly by Kvarterhuset, Islands Brygge Library, and Sundby Library, and the events are open to everyone.
