Niels HP's music sits at the intersection of soul, R&B, and jazz, rooted in the classic soul/R&B albums of the 1970s and the Soulquarians of the 2000s - filtered through his own songwriting.

For the release concert at Drop Inn, he performs with a quartet of experienced musicians. Niels HP (vocals & congas) is a trained drummer and percussionist. Jacob Christoffersen (piano & vocals) is an award-winning pianist and regular collaborator with jazz singer Sinne Eeg. Elias HP (bass) has played with David Millman Group, Tiger Oak, and Sophia HP. Mads Andersen (drums) has collaborated with Maria Key and Niclas Knudsen.

About the venue: Drop inn

Drop Inn on Kompagnistræde opened in 1934 as a restaurant with cabaret entertainment, soon nicknamed "Den røde ged" (The Red Goat) by Danish veterans of the Spanish Civil War. It became a refuge for jazz-loving bohemians, musicians and artists. Today it is an intimate live music venue with a near-floor-level stage, covering jazz, blues, rock and soul, with regular Jam Nights and a prominent role in the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

About: Jacob Christoffersen

Born in Copenhagen in 1967, Jacob Christoffersen ranks among the most seasoned pianists in Danish jazz - with over 60 recordings, the 2013 Ben Webster Prize and a decade at the keys in Shu-bi-dua. His long-running partnership with vocalist Sinne Eeg, which began in 2008, has taken them to stages across the globe.
