Powerlessness - and the Art of Becoming Powerlessness-Capable

What happens when the effort to control everything ends up making us more powerless - and we don't even have words for it? Authorized psychologist Joachim Meier explores this question in this lecture.

Meier is an external lecturer in psychology at Aarhus University and a consultant at Clavis Organizational Psychology. Drawing on sociology, psychology, philosophy and theology, he diagnoses contemporary society and argues that the idea that everything can be mastered should be challenged. Instead, he points to what it means to be able to embrace powerlessness rather than deny it. The lecture is based on his book 'Powerlessness - and the Art of Becoming Powerlessness-Capable' (KLIM, 2026).
