Iranian santur master Mohammad Reza Mortazavi brings his project Final Descent to Basement in Copenhagen.

About the venue: Basement

Basement is a cultural venue on Vesterbro, set in a former boiler room - a 200 sq m cellar with over 6 metres of ceiling height that allows for flexible staging. Run by the City of Copenhagen and tucked in a courtyard next to Vega, it hosts literature events, experimental concerts, alternative theatre and electronic underground nights, with most of its programme developed together with independent cultural creators from the city.

About: Mohammad Reza Mortazavi

Mohammad Reza Mortazavi is an Iranian musician and santur virtuoso - the santur being a hammered dulcimer central to Persian classical music. Based in Berlin, he has built a style that pushes the instrument far beyond tradition, incorporating experimental and electronic textures. Final Descent is one of his solo projects.
