Throw Pottery in the Morning - 10-Week Course with Marianne Krumbach — Keramikværkstedet KFF, Copenhagen

Beginner's pottery throwing course at Keramikværkstedet, 4th floor of Vesterbro Library and Cultural Centre. The course is for those who have never thrown before or want to improve their basic techniques.

Teaching starts with centering, pulling up to a cylinder, and throwing simple forms, then moves on to trimming, attaching handles, and glazing. You'll also get an introduction to different stoneware clays suitable for throwing and a review of relevant tools. Each session ends with shared cleanup - participants are expected to help keep the studio clean.

The instructor is Marianne Krumbach, trained at the Design School in Kolding, who works from her studio in Copenhagen NW. Her work spans modeled, nature-inspired sculptural objects and thrown projects, and she has exhibited both in Denmark and abroad. Learn more at www.mariannekrumbach.dk or instagram.com/mariannekrumbach.

The course runs over 10 Mondays from August 17, 2026 to October 26, 2026 - no classes in week 42 (October 12, 2026). The group has space for 10 participants. The price includes 8 kg of clay plus kiln firing and glazing; extra clay can be purchased, but max 3 kg. Bring clothes that can get dirty. Tickets cannot be refunded from 14 days before the course starts. English-speaking participants are welcome - interpretation is available, but let the instructor know at your first session.
