Pianist Christina Bjørkøe brings "Moments of Happiness" to Søbygård Koncertsal in Søby Ærø on Wednesday, 19 August 2026 at 19:30. The concert unfolds in two halves: the first devoted to Erik Satie's dreamy piano music, the second to poet Niels Hav, who reflects on moments of happiness with words woven between the musical pieces. Bjørkøe performs throughout both halves. This is one of three Danish dates on the tour, which also includes stops in Vordingborg and Sønderborg later in the year. Tickets cost 180 kr.

About: Christina Bjørkøe

Trained at Juilliard and the Royal Danish Academy of Music, Christina Bjørkøe has since her 1997 debut performed with most Danish symphony orchestras and toured across three continents. She is especially recognised for her recordings of Danish piano music, earning the DR P2 Prize twice alongside the Victor Borge Award.

Bjørkøe released in May 2026 on Dacapo Records a digital album with world premiere recordings of rare piano works by Per Nørgård - a prelude to a double CD planned for 2027.

Shortly before Per Nørgård's death, Bjørkøe played Partita Severa privately for the composer in April 2025, to his great delight.

Bjørkøe performed on 27 September 2025 in Dronningesalen at the Royal Library with Copenhagen Soloists under conductor Jonathan Ofir with Chopin's first piano concerto.
