ATLAS — Teater Momentum, Odense
Description was written before the event

Under H.C. Andersen's Festival, Teater Momentum opens its professional stages to emerging young artists. Four carefully selected groups present works rooted in powerful storytelling. These productions are created by young artists committed to developing their craft in theatre and dance. With De Unge Mønsterbrydere, the festival and Momentum continue an important tradition of serving as a development platform that supports and showcases emerging talent in theatre and dance.

About the production: ATLAS is a poetic and unsettling queer narrative about longing for a different life. With warmth and pride, a mother tells the story of her son, Atlas - his life, his strength, and the man he will become. Yet other stories intrude: memories, dreams, and illusions she tries to hold onto as the boundaries between fantasy and reality slowly begin to blur. ATLAS moves in the tension between queerness and heteronormative ideals - an intimate production about longing, identity, and the need to create a world where one belongs.
