Copenhagen between city, water and climate - August 27, 3:00 PM — Mødested: Ved Kyssetrappen, Copenhagen
Description was written before the event

Ten years ago, Ofelia Plads opened along with an underground car park holding 500 vehicles in the heart of Frederiksstaden - a project that created new connections between Nyhavn, Amalienborg and the Royal Playhouse. At the same time, Sankt Annæ Plads and the surrounding streets were renovated, traffic-calmed and climate-proofed. Realdania By & Byg Klubben marks the anniversary with a guided tour of the area.

The tour examines how the urban space is designed to withstand storm surge and extreme rainfall, and how it changes character with the seasons and events. The focus is on architectural qualities: paving, planting, scale, materials, water features and the transition between historic city and modern harbour space. The tour also takes participants down into the car park beneath Kvæsthusmolen, which made it possible to free up the area above for public gathering and cultural activities.

The tour is free but requires advance registration. Meeting point: Ved Kyssetrappen, Copenhagen, August 27 at 3:00 PM.
