Valbyparken: Herb Walks and Foraging Tours
H/F Musikbyen, Copenhagen · 250 kr. · ≈ 33 €
Join a 3-hour walk through Valbyparken discovering wild medicinal and edible plants. You'll engage all your senses - tasting, touching, seeing and smelling the plants - while learning about their medicinal properties, health benefits and culinary uses in the kitchen.
You may encounter plants such as sweet violet, dandelion, hawthorn, birch, ash, feverfew, yellow bedstraw, burdock, elder, St. John's wort, clover, smooth burdock, linden, plantain, yarrow, skullcap, horseradish, pine, mugwort, wild carrot, blackthorn, raspberry and many more. Which plants you meet changes from tour to tour with the seasons - sometimes quickly, and often from month to month. Along the way we brew tea from herbs found on the route; at the end we drink it together with other herbal brews.
The walk is approximately 3 km and lasts 3 hours. Children are welcome, but note that the tour is designed for adults. Remember to bring appropriate clothing, a notebook, a cup, and buckets or bags for collecting plants.
Price: Adult 250 kr. · Child 7-12 years 100 kr. · Child 0-6 years free
