KASOLA Trio & Dela Botri

The international KASOLA Trio explores the musical landscapes of jazz and West African rhythm through original compositions and traditional influences from West Africa and Scandinavia. For this special concert, they welcome their long-time friend and colleague Dela Botri, one of Ghana's leading musicians and an acclaimed flutist.

Katrine Suwalski (saxophone, flute, vocals) and Dela Botri have performed together since 2015 in Ghana and Denmark as Rhythm and Wind, releasing the album Ghana Calling in 2018. Ayi Solomon (percussion, vocals) and Lamine Cissokho (kora, vocals) complete the ensemble. Expect beautiful, groovy music filled with warmth, high spirits, and improvisation.

Dela Botri is internationally recognized for his mastery of the Atenteben, a traditional Ghanaian bamboo flute, and leads the nine-piece band Hewale Sounds. His work bridges contemporary expression with deep roots in African tradition, drawing comparisons to artists like Habib Koité, Salif Keita, and Youssou Ndour. Katrine Suwalski is a composer and musician known for her distinctive fusion of jazz and West African influences, while Lamine Cissokho comes from a family of Mandinka griots in Senegal's Casamance region, weaving together jazz, oriental melodies, Nordic folk, and improvisation.
