What makes a book good - and do you really know what it takes to capture you as a reader?

Literature expert and author Lea Fløe Christensen gives a lecture based on her book "A Man with a Goat on Page 251". The focus is on the concept of 'reading taste': just as we know our preferences in music and film, we as readers also have a pattern in what works for us - but few are aware of it. Lea Fløe Christensen shows how to find your own 'hook in the book', and why the plot is not always what matters most in a reading experience.

The lecture also includes practical advice on recommending books and discussing them with others. It is aimed at both the avid reader and those who want to read more but run out of good candidates.

Lea Fløe Christensen holds a cand.mag. in Modern Cultural Communication and a bachelor's degree in Literary Studies from the University of Copenhagen. She communicates literature at, among other places, Krogerup Folk High School and Brøg Literature Bar, and was nominated in 2023 for the Blixen Prize as 'Best Literature Communicator of the Year'. "A Man with a Goat on Page 251" is her debut.
