Monstersalon: Lilith - Mother of All Monsters

In Jewish mythology, Lilith, Adam's first wife, is the mother of all monsters. She refused to submit, left Paradise, and was later depicted as a demonic figure. In her wake, a host of monsters and mythical creatures appear in Jewish folklore - from the mysterious golem and the possessing dybbuk to the sea monster Leviathan. Join the Monstersalon, where Janus Møller Jensen and Sara Fredfeldt Stadager from the Danish Jewish Museum explore the shifting meanings attributed to these monsters and how they have woven themselves into both our shared narratives and popular culture. The event costs 100 kr. and is part of the Golden Days programme. In connection with K7, it is free for young people aged 18-27. The lecture takes place on Thursday, 10 September, 16:00-17:30.
