Workshop - Learn Dog-Knitting with Raw Danish Wool at Pakhusstrik 2026 — Nordatlantens Brygge, Copenhagen

Strikkefællesskabet Hedestrik hosts a dogmestrik workshop at Pakhusstrik 2026 on Nordatlantens Brygge. Dogmestrik is a technique where you knit directly from the sheep's raw wool - without carding or spinning it first. The process is straightforward: you go from unprocessed wool to a finished knitted product.

At the workshop you will learn the technique and gain knowledge about wool, plant dyes, and wet felting. The price includes raw wool for a pair of wrist warmers following a simple pattern. You can also choose to make a Vestjylland shepherd's vest - a wrap vest with a hood - and if so, you can purchase extra wool for the entire vest for 195 kr.

You don't need to be an experienced knitter to participate, but you should be able to knit knit and purl stitches and cast on. The workshop lasts 2.5 hours.

Hedestrik focuses on Nordic wool that otherwise lies unused as a byproduct at Nordic sheep farms, and teaches about wool from a climate perspective. Follow them on Instagram: @hedestrik. The workshop is part of Pakhusstrik 2026, and access to the festival requires a festival pass - read more at nordatlantens.dk/pakhusstrik. Members of Nordatlantens Friends receive a 25% discount; tickets purchased with this discount must be presented with a valid membership card at the entrance.
