Do pig farms threaten public health? — Hovedbiblioteket, Odense

Emil Brix from the Danish Association Against Pig Factories meets councillor Anne Skau Styrishave - responsible for Health, Care and Prevention in Odense - for a discussion about the consequences of industrial pig farming for public health.

TV2's documentary from pig farms in autumn 2025 sparked debate about agriculture where, according to critics, animal welfare, environment and human health have been sacrificed on the altar of deregulation. A central question is what a municipal councillor can actually do within Odense Municipality's boundaries - and experience from environmental pollution cases involving market gardens shows that stricter controls have had an effect.

The discussion covers animal welfare, drinking water and fish water, greenhouse gases, antibiotic resistance and questions of rights and fairness. The audience is welcome to ask questions and participate in the debate.
