Workshop in Darbuka & Oriental Percussion with Lars Bo Kujahn - www.darbuka.dk

This workshop introduces rhythms from the Middle East, Turkey, and North Africa and is open to both beginners and experienced players. You will learn to play the darbuka (Turkish goblet drum) and tabla from the Middle East, with a focus on fundamental technique, rhythmic training, and ensemble playing. Teaching is tailored to participants' level, and you will gain insight into Arabic, Turkish, and Moroccan rhythm traditions and their different styles and grooves.

Beyond darbuka and tabla, there is an opportunity to try:
Def - oriental frame drum
Req - classical Arabic tambourine
Zill / Saqqath - finger cymbals
Davul / Tapan - large drum with mallet and stick
