Jasmine Myra (UK)
British saxophonist and composer Jasmine Myra visits Denmark for the first time, presenting her critically acclaimed album "Where Light Settles". The concert is part of Musikcaféens programme and takes place at Stairway in Vanløse while HUSET undergoes renovation.
"Where Light Settles" is Myra's third album, comprising nine compositions that explore life's contrasts - hope and doubt, loss and progress, light and darkness. The music moves between jazz, contemporary folk, and cinematic soundscapes, recorded live in one room with her regular ensemble. The arrangements bring together strings, piano, flute, guitar, vibraphone and harp alongside saxophone, double bass, drums and percussion. The album is self-produced and released on Gondwana Records. Myra has previously been acclaimed for the albums "Horizons" and "Rising".
