Torben Steno Trio
Torben Steno has become an old boy - it's been 40 years since he first arranged his songs. Most weren't good, but some of those that never reached a wider audience are actually worth listening to. Now he sings and entertains with them and other highlights along the path of mediocrity, accompanied by his trio.
The programme also includes the classics "Why Am I Not Dead" and "Three Older Women in an Empty Charity Bar in November". The original musical cocktail he calls urinsyrerock - and at times the trio sounds a bit like Jimi Hendrix jamming with John Mogensen and Amanda Lear.
The setup is classic trio rock: bass, drums and plenty of electric guitar. Sitting on a barstool, Steno delivers his songs - from the socially realistic "Only the Municipality Knows Your Body" to "Cheating at Solitaire" - the humorous interludes that have been the old media man's trademark for decades. It's very very live.
