MIAW

MIAW (DK/NL) is a cross-pop duo consisting of Frederik Fog and Liza Dries from Denmark and the Netherlands respectively. They work at the intersection of UK bass-inspired, deconstructed club music and elements from shoegaze and 1990s trip-hop - with references to Sega Bodega, Body Meat, and james K.

The sound is built on fast breakbeats, arpeggiated synthesizers, and unconventional sampling techniques combined with Frederik's guitar playing, resulting in something between a remix and a pop song. Their debut EP 'My Petswan' was followed by singles picked up by P6 Beat (DK), The Needle Drop (US), Nina Protocol (US), and several European media outlets. Recent singles include "Sad song" and "Walmart".

In January they played a sold-out Store Vega for Vegas Udvalgte and received praise from Politiken reviewer Lucia Odoom. They followed with Roskilde Festival, where Soundvenue gave five stars. The duo has already toured intensively outside Denmark and attracted attention from the international music scene.
