miaw is a Danish-Dutch cross-pop duo formed by Frederik Fog (DK) and Liza Dries (NL), who met in Cologne and are now based in Copenhagen. They work at the intersection of UK bass-inspired deconstructed club music, shoegaze and 90s trip-hop, building their sound from fast breakbeats, arpeggiated synthesizers and unorthodox sampling. Their 2024 debut EP 'My Petswan' on Copenhagen label Petrola 80 earned airplay on BBC6, 1Live and P6 Beat, and coverage from The Needle Drop and GAFFA, before the duo went on to play Roskilde Festival in 2026.
miaw performed at Roskilde Festival on June 28, 2026, where both GAFFA and Soundvenue reviewed the concert positively.
The single 'Walmart' was released in June 2026 and was described by The Line of Best Fit as the duo's most polished breakbeat single to date.
The single 'moving in' was released on January 24, 2026 - the duo's first new music since the debut EP 'My Petswan' - and was immediately picked up by, among others, The Needle Drop and P6 Beat.
During 2025, miaw performed at a number of international showcase festivals, including ESNS, by:Larm, MIL Lisbon and SPOT.
The debut EP 'My Petswan' was released on November 22, 2024 on Petrola 80 and received airplay on BBC6, 1Live and P6 as well as reviews from GAFFA, Soundvenue and The Needle Drop.
