Psychiatry Summit 2026: What Has Happened to You? - A Trauma-Informed Approach — Imperial, Copenhagen

The Psychiatry Summit 2026 focuses on a trauma-informed approach in psychiatry, starting with a single question: What has happened to you? Rather than asking what is wrong with a person, the summit examines how difficult life experiences - loss, betrayal, violence, abuse, neglect, and loneliness - can affect both mental and physical health, and what this knowledge means for the future of psychiatry.

A trauma-informed approach is not about explaining everything through trauma, but about meeting people with curiosity, respect, and understanding that life experiences matter for wellbeing, relationships, and recovery possibilities.

The summit brings together people with lived experience, professionals, leaders, researchers, and decision-makers. The programme includes presentations, professional perspectives, and dialogue groups that explore how psychiatry can become more holistic and equal. Places in the dialogue groups are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Since the event is public, photographs will be taken.
