Dvorak's Requiem
Sun, 4 Oct 2026 · 16:00 — 17:30
Vestsjællands Oratoriekor performs Antonín Dvořák's Requiem with choir, soloists and orchestra.
Death was not an unfamiliar theme for Dvořák. He and his wife lost their first three children within a few years in the late 1870s, and the grief left clear traces in the music. The Requiem encompasses a broad spectrum of emotions - from rage and despair to resignation, hope and consolation - and is considered one of the most intense works of Romantic choral symphonies.
The soloists are soprano Signe Sneh Durholm, alto Sofie Haagen, tenor Rasmus Gravers and bass Albin Ahl.
