Handel's Messiah in Copenhagen Cathedral

Akademisk Orkester og Kor performs Handel's Messiah at Vor Frue Kirke on Nørregade, Copenhagen, on Thursday 3 December 2026 at 19:00. The concert runs approximately three hours with a 20-minute intermission; doors open one hour before the start. This is one of two Danish dates for the orchestra and choir this season. Vor Frue Kirke, Copenhagen's cathedral, was designed by C.F. Hansen in neoclassical style and consecrated in 1829. The church is renowned for Bertel Thorvaldsen's sculptures of Christ and the twelve apostles. The soloists are Signe Sneh Durholm, Nana Bugge Rasmussen, David Danholt and Simon Duus. Tickets range from 75 to 250 kr., with students and those under 26 receiving half price.
