When I Was a Child... | Ars Nova Copenhagen

In the concert "When I Was a Child..." Ars Nova Copenhagen returns to lullabies, nonsense verses and children's songs - to a time when words were often funnier than what they meant, and a small rhyme could set the imagination running wild.

The programme features simple interpretations of well-known songs alongside new works by David Lang, Andrew Hamilton and Siobhán Cleary, each shedding light on the child's voice in music from different angles. With Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen and Per Nørgård there is only a hair's breadth between play and seriousness, while Phillip Faber contributes a brand new work based on melodies that many can probably still hum along to.

The concert takes place at Trinitatis Church in Copenhagen.
