Dennis Nørmark will deliver the lecture "Why do we assume that voluntary organizations should 'patch the holes' in the welfare state's safety net, when historically it has been the opposite? People have always helped each other, but today it seems the system has monopolized the helping role. But what do we lose when we replace 'amateurs' with professional bureaucrats - and can systems rarely do right by 'odd characters' who don't fit into society's categories?"
